FAQ: Wild Hunt Festival Chronicles - Hit JRPG Board Game is Back!
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

Do I need to have played Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival (2022) to jump into any of these games?

Nope! Dankai Survey Brigade is a completely standalone game and can be played without ever having played the original or without playing the Anniversary Edition. Anniversary Edition can also be played by itself without ever touching Dankai or the original Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival release. That being said, Dankai, Aria, and Anniversary are 100% compatible with one another. We’re seeing this campaign as a sort of relaunch of the franchise, and because of that, this is the ideal time to jump on the Wild Hunt Festival bandwagon.

So wait, why is the campaign called Wild Hunt Festival: Chronicles?

Because “Wild Hunt Festival: Dankai Survey Brigade + Wild Hunt Festival Side Stories: An Aria of Light and Shadow + Wild Hunt Festival: Anniversary Edition” exceeded the Kickstarter Campaign Name character limit.

Wasn't this game originally called Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival?

Yes indeed! However, we have since dropped the “Kradia” part of the name because we are only focusing on producing content for the Wild Hunt Festival subseries of the Kradia franchise. Kradia is a larger, shared universe in which all of Liner Note’s games take place. However, each Kradia game is different from the last.

Wild Hunt Festival was originally a single entry in the Kradia series (that was the game we crowdfunded a few years back). After the success of our Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival Kickstarter, we went back to Liner Note and asked them if they would be open to producing more content just within the Wild Hunt Festival games so that we could establish Wild Hunt Festival as its own subseries of Kradia. They agreed to this, and we all decided to drop “Kradia” from the title to A. not confuse people, and B. make the game names a little shorter because Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival: Dankai Survey Brigade is a bit of a mouthful.

There are a lot of game titles being used; can you break down what each one means?

Absolutely!

Kradia: The name of the overarching franchise Dankai, Aria, and Anniversary Edition belong to; it’s also the name of the world where all of these games take place.

Wild Hunt Festival: The subseries within the larger Kradia IP.

Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival: The name of the Wild Hunt Festival game we released in 2022. Also sometimes called “the original Wild Hunt Festival” or “KWHF” or “Wild Hunt Festival (2022).”

Wild Hunt Festival: Anniversary Edition: The overhauled and enhanced version of Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival.

Wild Hunt Festival: Dankai Survey Brigade: The brand new, fully featured standalone expansion of (but is 100% compatible with) Wild Hunt Festival: Anniversary Edition and Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival.

Wild Hunt Festival Side Stories: An Aria of Light and Shadow: The name of the series’ first mini-expansion.

Wild Hunt Festival Chronicles: The name of this campaign and also the name of the Box Set that is includes Wild Hunt Festival: Dankai Survey Brigade, Wild Hunt Festival Side Stories: An Aria of Light and Shadow, and Wild Hunt Festival: Anniversary Edition in its own storage box.

Side Stories: The name of the mini-expansions that will release between the larger standalone expansions.

I pledged to the original Kradia: Wild Hint Festival Kickstarter. Do I get any perks in this campaign for backing the one a few years back?

You will be labeled as a “Founding Backer” in the credits.

I bought the plastic character boards in the original Kradia: Wild Hint Festival Kickstarter campaign and was unhappy with their quality and didn’t think what I got matched up with what was promised. Do you have any intentions to rectify this?

Absolutely. We, too, were very surprised and disappointed with the quality of the original plastic boards. So, we are offering brand new plastic boards, free of charge, to anyone who bought them in the original campaign. If you are already picking up some of the new games in this campaign and you backed the Kradia: Wild Hunt Festival campaign, you’ll get the reprinted plastic boards completely free if you want them. If you are not grabbing anything in this campaign and you simply want your boards replaced with the new ones—because you bought them in the original campaign—you’ll only have to pay the shipping, which is $5 in the US and $10 internationally. Once this campaign is over, we will have a form for folks to fill out so that they can get these boards if they’d like to.

Do note: the reprinted plastic boards will not feature the new board size or interface; this will be a straight reprint of the original boards (using the old board art, UI, and size), just using the heavier plastic card stock we promised folks and thought we were getting the first time around.

Will these games be more expensive at retail?

Yes! Retail prices will be 20% higher than the KS pricing. Late pledging (without a $1 buy-in to the PledgeManager) will be 10% higher. Thus, backing the Kickstarter while it’s live saves you money.

How many game modes are there, and how many players does each mode support?

There are four modes in total! Below is each available mode, which games feature that mode, and how many players that mode supports. Do note that all characters, regardless of their game of origin, are compatible with all modes.

Story Mode (1-4 players): Anniversary Edition, Aria of Light and Shadow Challenge Mode (1-4 players): Anniversary Edition, Dankai Survey Brigade Nightmare Mode (1-8* players): Anniversary Edition Dungeon Mode (1-4 players): Dankai Survey Brigade

Nightmare Mode is really meant for four players controlling two characters each; however, up to eight players could theoretically play it with heavy concessions.

How accurate is the shipping table on the main page?

The shipping rates on the campaign page are super rough estimates. With the tariffs and current market instability, our shipping table for this Kickstarter has never been more of an approximation. It could be well under or well over the rates identified in the graphic. That being said, we think the rates we’ve included though are fairly good estimates at this time.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
